  1. Be Part of an Exciting Third Year of Morecambe Bay Curriculum Conference - FOR FREE!

By joining our bigger, better, and more exciting than ever MBC Conference 2025, you are not only becoming a part of a valued network of individuals who care about the same higher purpose but coming to an afternoon filled with expert knowledge in the field and filled in actionable climate action templates by EOD.

As a new assistant for the conference, I’ve already met so many passionate and amazing people working across the industry on projects I’d never have discovered otherwise. This opportunity also enables me to practice some practical skills and work with larger data sets and analysis to generate insights so we can bring on an even better experience for you this year. And I am so looking forward to the day itself to meet everyone in person!

2. Join a passionate movement and connect with like-minded local leading sustainability educators driving place based, sustainability focused teaching across our region.

Porter Gale (2013) champions the idea that your network equals your net worth, and from my professional experience that has certainly been the case in the world of sustainability and action-oriented initiatives. Education and theory are foundational to progress, providing the knowledge and frameworks that guide meaningful action. Equally vital is the application of these ideas in practice; bringing theory to life through hands-on engagement within the field.

Our conference is going to be the hub of this action, a place where we will be hosting a number of deep dive sessions and workshops and help you close down the gap between acquiring new information and applying it. It will bring you closer to the passionate individuals already delivering impactful initiatives in this space, who will share actionable tips, tricks and new knowledge for your own climate action plans and curriculums with the possibility of making new long-term partnerships and expanding your network.

3. Leave the Conference with an actionable Climate Action Template!

Having an insightful and action-packed afternoon you certainly will but it does not stop there! We endeavour to help you with your climate action curriculums, hence we’ve designed a very practical, fillable, and easy to use climate action template that you will be given on the day with all the new knowledge gained, ready to be turned into action within your teaching plans at your own school or institution.

The Climate Action Plan (CAP) will be a practical, step-by-step template designed to help the schools kick-start REAL and RAW sustainability efforts:

The template will contain everything from reducing carbon emissions and rewilding school grounds to accessing grants and empowering student-led projects, this toolkit will be packed with everything you need to act right away, right now, immediately after the conference. It’s also linked to major initiatives like Let’s Go Zero and the National Education Nature Park, and best of all we will also be giving this to you completely free to take away and implement in your own curriculums.

4. Gain insights on cutting-edge environmental and wellbeing topics: Learn from expert presentations on environmental justice, social prescribing, and health around Morecambe Bay.

After we introduce MBC Conference 2025 on the day, we are super excited to be hosting Sam Kendall (head of education at Eden Project Cornwall) and John Pye (project director of the Eden Project Morecambe) who will take stage to update us on the progress of the Eden Project Morecambe and much more! John Pye was recently appointed after a successful delivery of RHS Garden Bridgewater transforming a 156-acre heritage landscape into the RHS Garden in Greater Manchester you will not want to miss this!

This year we will also bring the highly demanded interactive stalls and roundtables that feature over 30 organisations and educators from across the region and beyond, offering everything from climate education resources to nature-based innovations. Case Study Spotlights to highlight real-world success stories in biodiversity, decarbonisation, and climate education from Natural England, Rewilding Roots, and more will also be available!

5. Experience the Power of Community in person

In addition to the networking element - as the recent pandemic has shown all of us.. there’s always going to be something special about gathering in person, especially in spaces and with people rooted in our bay’s identity. You’ll engage face-to-face with educators, environmental advocates, and local partners across inspiring venues in Lancaster and Morecambe Bay, giving you the opportunity to override the emailing and messaging online and waiting for a simple response, sometimes for ages!

(6. Bonus ¨C DELICIOUS and FREE Plant Based Lunch)

As our thank you for coming out of your way to care about the environment around you and your valuable presence, we will provide a uniquely crafted fusion of plant-based cuisine to break the day at noon, where you will also be presented with an opportunity to enjoy the breather and create those valuable in-person connections mentioned before.

So DON’T MISS OUT and join us for the 2025 conference! More details are available on the Annual Conference page of the MBC website.

MBC Conference Assistant Leo

A Bit ÃÛÌÒ´«Ãºmv Me:

Hi, I’m Leo and I’m thrilled to be working behind the scenes on this year’s Morecambe Bay Curriculum Conference as part of the event planning and community team. I’m currently finishing my MSc in Advanced Marketing Management at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ãºmv, after completing a BSc in Marketing Management with a placement year at Myprotein, the UK’s largest sports nutrition brand. It’s inspiring to connect with so many people who are passionate about sustainability, education, and positive change, and I can’t wait to meet you at the conference this year!

(Alongside my studies, I’ve worked across multiple university roles: from being Assistant Dean at Pendle College and a Management School Ambassador, to leading societies like the Marketing & Advertising Society. I’ve also volunteered with UNICEF, the Children & Young People Partnership, and worked on marketing campaigns for the Lancaster Music Festival with the Confucius Institute.)
